Ultimately tip percentage depends on one thing: how happy you are with your cut and/or color. If there is something you want to change about the cut, say so, but don’t begrudge your hairstylist a tip just because you are unhappy. Most importantly, don’t be insulting. If a hairstylist discovered you were unhappy with a haircut, and you didn’t say anything, he/she is going to feel pretty awful and would want to change or fix it immediately. Give them that chance. Tipping is good manners. It is also, in some cases, where many hairstylists make a greater part of their income.
